Any New-Jersey-area opponauts want to check out a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ? Mileage seems low, and it's being sold by the original owner. I've only seen one of these in the last 10 years. But maybe there's a reason for that. Were they terrible? I quite like them, both for their rarity and their then-futuristic design.

Welcome...to the future?

they were pretty good cars, but rare even when new. Ton of 626's in that age. I havent heard many bad things about them though. Had a friend who had one and he loved it.

NP - it's a big Japanese sedan with a V6 and RWD.

Looks like it'll get up to 88 mph!

Because of the Ford/Mazda thing, I always assumed these were platform sharers with the Taurus. Any truth to that?

The split cushions on the front seats make me think this car has been the scene of many a violent fart. Pass.

I've never even know the 929 continued to the 90s. It looks a bit like the Mazda Xedos 9 we got.

I love it!
The ad is 3 weeks old though; hopefully it's still available

I noticed that too. If it made any sense, I'd call, but the last thing I need right now is a 20-year-old Mazda as a third car.

I really dig the looks! They are so reminiscent of my old 626. For some weird reason we never got this gen of the 929 in Euro-land. The biggest Mazda sedan money could buy at that time was the Millenia, which was sold as the "Xedos 9" in an attempt to start a new luxury sub-brand along the lines of Lexus, together with it's smaller brother the Xedos 6
which in return, you guys never got. Both cars still had Mazda badges though, and the whole idea was abandoned when they went out of production.
*Makes note to self: Acquire Xedos 6 in good condition before they become extinct.

The car you pictured was called the Millenia over here, FWD though, I think 1995-2001?
Did you guys get the Miller cycle engine available?

I have no idea, other than it being introduced in 1993. They didn't sell many.

I'd probably do a drift build on it if i were to buy it & put a rotary up front!

If this isn't a NP, then nothing in the world is.

Sorry to comment on such an old post, but I own an '88 929. Don't know if you went for it or not, but if you wanted to ask anything about them, I'm here to chat...

I hope you enjoy it! I've always had a soft spot for these cars. In the end, I didn't pull the trigger, since it isn't practical for me to own a third car right now. Someday, I may look at these again.

I do love it. It's truly a great car. It's really hard to get parts for though- just a caveat. You don't find them very often. Anyway, sorry to dredge up an old post, I was just curious to see if anyone else on here had a 929. : )

For parts, have you checked out Row 52 ?

No, never heard of it. I'll check it out. Thanks!

Oh, well. Nothing available at all. : /

They update all the time, so it's worth checking back. I remember once there were three 929's on there at once.

Good to know, I'll check in on it now and then from here on... Thanks for the advice!
